This variation was used on Colt Pythons with 2 1/2″ and 3″ barrels, and they will also fit other E/I-frame revolvers. Finished with oil to replicate the original factory finish.
These grips can be used as is, which will leave them slightly proud of the frame and with sharp corners at the bottom. However, we recommend that you hand fit them to your gun as per our fitting guide: Click here
Factory Python grips came with gold medallions, all other E/I frame grips came with silver medallions. You can choose a color below.

I am very proud to be the first reviewer of these Colt Python and E/I frame service grips by Deer Hollow.
First, I was blown away when I looked at them, even under magnification. The walnut is beautiful, probably better looking on their grips than the originals Colt made. Some of the wood on the original Colt grips looked orange and had no grain. The area of checkering matches the original service grips perfectly. If you look at other aftermarket grips, that is not the case. Most of theirs has a much smaller checkering area. The checkering itself is sharp, but not too sharp. I went with the gold medallions because that is what came on the original Python. But, if you prefer, silver medallions are available too. As far as the medallions go, they look great. They are located in the correct spot, and rotated to the perfect position. Also, under magnification, the fitting is precise.
The fit and finish on the service grips is impeccable. The finish mimics that on the originals, and is not sloppy like on other aftermarket grips. The feel in hand is perfect too.
In summary, Deer Hollow makes fantastic service grips for the Colt Python, with perfect fit, finish, and feel! These grips would look great on an original Python, as well as, a new manufactured 2020 Python. They also come with black hardware, and a correct black screw. And, the BEST part, they cost about half what a pair of originals would cost.

Grips fit very nice and were tight. Workmanship looks good along with the wood. Emblems look quality and install looks just like how original ones were installed. Grips now bring my 1963 Python snubby back to original look and feel.

Just installed these beautiful Deer Hollow grips on my 3″ 2022 Colt Python and they fit perfectly and are first class in every way. The checkering is clean and sharp and provides a nice grippy surface. My 3″ Python looks so much better with these service style grips than with the large laminate combat style grips from the factory. The combat grips look ok on my 6″ Python, but appear oversized on my 3″ Python. Love these grips so much I will order a pair of the large combat grips for my 6″ Python if they ever become available…every Python model is sold out now and, from the superb quality of Deer Hollow’s workmanship and beautiful walnut, I can see why! I bought a set of new type Python service stocks recently. Upon fitting to the grip frame, they fit perfectly, following the instructions provided by Deer Hollow.
These stocks are as good, or superior to the original stocks provided by Colt. Excellent grade of

Just finished fitting and installing these on my 2020 3 inch Python with excellent results. The fitting instructions made this an easy job and it was very easy to do. This is my sixth set of grips from Deer Hollow and all of them have been excellent reproductions of Colt factory grips in every detail. I bought the service grips for my 2020 S/S 3″ Python. Out of the box, they were a 97% perfect fit. The grips sat a bit proud at certain points. I followed Olof’s directions and reached a 99.9% fit very easily. I also asked Olof about the Tung Oil touch up and his response was both quick and very helpful. The walnut grips look much better than the factory Hogue grips. Excellent product, FAST shipping and great customer service from Olaf. I plan to upgrade my other Colt Pythons with the Deer Hallow grips. A quality product!

First set of grips I’ve gotten from Deer Hollow, decided to check em out after seeing them mentioned a few times online. The medallion is the main reason I checked these out, as I’ve had to reattach the siliconed medallions on the classic style Altamonts.
These have very crisp details, whereas the Altamonts are almost rounded feeling in contrast to the stipling on these. It looks super clean, and it makes for a better grip than the Altamonts. The wood grain on my specific pair is much lighter than the Altamonts I have as well. Not a good or bad thing to me, but I know some people have preferences. The wood itself is gorgeous, regardless.
My absolute favorite part of them, however, has gotta be the wide lip where your thumb sits. Combined with the sharper stipling, it makes for a really confident grip on the gun, which is important as I carry this pistol every day, and need that confidence if the moment ever arises.
I will likely only order Colt grips from here going forward, I’m a very happy customer.
