We want our customers to have a pleasant shopping experience, and we do whatever we can to make that happen. However, we do run a business so here are a few things we would like for you to know before you order:
Product liability
Due to the nature of firearms, we cannot assume any liability for the use or misuse of our products. We simply can’t control the way you use them, so we expect you to do it in a safe, educated and responsible manner. Firearms are inherently dangerous, and you use them entirely at your own risk.
Vintage firearms are sold strictly as collector’s items. Some may not be safe to fire due to age, wear, inherent design flaws, production methods, materials or possible sabotage during wartime production and so on, so the buyer assumes any liability involved in firing them. As a rule, we strongly discourage our customers from firing any vintage firearms. Modern firearms (unless otherwise noted) are guaranteed to safely perform as designed. If in doubt about the functionality or safety of a certain firearm we have for sale, please contact us for more information.
Our firearm parts are either vintage surplus or reproductions. We do guarantee that the item will be in working order (unless otherwise noted), but the functionality and safety will be limited to what you can reasonably expect from the original product. Some parts (for example: The factory grips for Colt Anaconda and certain firing pins) are known to fail under use, so any reproduction of such a part will be prone to the same type of failure as an original part. In such cases, there’s obviously a reason why you need a replacement in the first place. We simply can’t guarantee the original manufacturer’s design, so parts like that are sold “for restoration purposes only”.
Payments
Our website uses PayPal as the payment gateway, but it also gives you the option to pay with a credit/debit card. You will find directions once you start the checkout procedure.
For off site purchases (such as firearms or other mail-in orders) we accept money orders and cashier’s checks. We prefer USPS money orders, but cashier’s checks from banks or well-known financial institutions will also work. We do accept personal checks, but we will hold them for 10 business days before we ship.
If you mail in your order, please contact us first to make sure the item is in stock. If needed, we can set the item to the side for you until we receive your payment. If your payment is not received within a reasonable period of time, we cannot guarantee that the item is still available.
Shipping
We ship our items via USPS. We make mail runs at least twice a week, so you can expect shipping within 1-3 business days after you place an order. Once your order is in the mail, you will receive a shipping confirmation and a tracking number via email.
Depending on your email settings, shipping confirmations and other automated messages from us can end up in your spam mail folder. If you don’t receive these messages, please check your spam mail folder before contacting us about the status of your order.
We spend a lot of time verifying and correcting address info, so please make sure that everything is correct and complete when you place your order. We ship to the shipping address in the order, and you are responsible for it being correct. We can’t reimburse you if the package ends up in the wrong place or disappears because of incorrect info in your order.
Returns
We do accept returns, but only if you contact us first and let us know the reason for the return. This will determine how we handle it.
1: Obvious quality issues. This is a no-brainer. Your decision to buy a product from us is entirely based on our pictures and descriptions, so if the product is not as advertised, we’ll either replace it or refund you, including shipping cost. However, many of our products (like surplus parts) can have cosmetic or functional flaws, and we cannot accept returns if those flaws are mentioned in our product descriptions and/or shown in our pictures.
Also, our reproduction parts (such as gun grips) are reproduced as accurately as we possibly can, which means that any flaws in the original design will be duplicated as well. For example: Many of the Colt revolver grips could use some tweaking to make them perfect, but if Colt didn’t do it, we won’t do it either. We do our very best to make our reproductions authentic, so any shortcomings in the original design will also be reproduced. For better or for worse, this is what makes a reproduction a true reproduction, and not just a “close enough” replacement.
2: You ordered the wrong item. It’s not too uncommon that our customers order the wrong item, and in those cases we do accept a return or replacement. If you want to replace it with another item, we will refund or charge the difference in price, minus a 10% restocking fee on your original purchase. If you want a refund, we will charge a 20% restocking fee. Please look at the pictures, read the descriptions and educate yourself on what you’re buying before you place the order.
3: Buyer’s remorse. You placed an order after having a few beers, your cat stepped on your keyboard, your wife found out about your purchase and so on. We have all been there and done that, and it happens to the best of us. We most certainly understand this dilemma, but at the same time we can’t afford to pay for your mistakes. If you want to return your item on a “no questions asked” basis, we will charge a 20% restocking fee.
Please note that any returned item will be inspected, and we cannot accept it if we find that it has been altered or damaged. If this is the case, we will have to return it to you at your expense.
