It paved the way for a long series of successful pistols in other calibers, first produced by SIG Sauer GmbH in West Germany and currently produced by SIG Sauer, Inc. in the US.

The early, West German SIG Sauers are considered to be the very best, and can be identified by the “Made in W. Germany” stamp and the German proof marks under the muzzle. This one is in excellent condition, and comes in the numbered factory box, including one extra magazine, original manual and factory test target.
