IMI Desert Eagle, .50 AE

The .50 caliber Desert Eagle is the undisputed king of the handguns. Its intimidating appearance has made it popular among Hollywood’s villains and heroes, and its numerous movie appearances have turned it into one of the most iconic handguns ever. It’s a one of-a-kind firearm with a unique gas operated/rotating bolt action, necessary due to the recoil of the .50 AE cartridge. It’s a truly massive pistol that weighs about 4 1/2 lbs unloaded, and it gives new meaning to the phrase “mine is bigger than yours”.

The Desert Eagle was originally made by Israel Military Industries (IMI), but later on the production was moved to Magnum Research in Minnesota. This is one of the original, Israeli made pistols, and it’s in excellent condition. The black phosphate finish has a few handling marks, but no actual wear. We have test fired this gun and the recoil is (not unexpectedly) substantial, but by no means unmanageable if you are used to handguns in .44 Magnum and up.  The IMI made Desert Eagle is a modern classic that is now turning into a desirable collectible.
