Storing grips the wrong way can cause unnecessary damage. Keeping the panels loosely held together with the screw only will often damage the screw and the screw holes, and it can also lead to warping. Keeping them held together with rubber bands can also cause warping, and will often leave a sticky residue and/or discoloration that’s difficult to remove.

This kit will help you store and protect your grips in a safe and professional way. By putting the spacer block between the panels and securing them with the grip screw, you will keep them firmly held together. This eliminates the wobble you get with the makeshift methods, and it will also prevent warping. The resealable storage bags are made of a much heavier plastic (4 mil) than the cheap, household variety “ziploc” bags, and will protect the grips from getting scratched.

The spacers are specifically made to fit Colt Python grips. The #2 spacer is for grips with recessed backs, such as gen 1, 2 and early gen 3. The #3 spacer is for grips with flat backs, such as late gen 3, current production Python grips and most aftermarket grips. The #3 spacer will also work with S&W L and N frame grips.
