CZ 38 “Nutcracker”, shooter grade – SOLD

$675.00

CZ 38, .380 ACP

The CZ 38 is an interesting design which probably offers the quickest field strip ever. The barrel is hinged at the muzzle end, and all you have to do is to push a latch, flip it open and pull the slide off. This peculiar arrangement earned it its nickname “The Nutcracker”. The action is straight blowback and double action only, which makes for a very simple and reliable construction. These pistols were intended for the Czechoslovakian military, and production started in 1939. Czechoslovakia was occupied by the German forces the very same year, so the vast majority of the CZ 38s ended up in German service.

This one is a first year production and a bit “cosmetically challenged”, but it’s complete, all original and functions perfectly. The bore is shiny with sharp rifling and small spots, the trigger is smooth and surprisingly light. Has been test fired without any issues whatsoever. A great pistol for those who like to shoot vintage firearms, or just want to fill a spot in their collection without breaking the bank.
