British No 5 Jungle Carbine, .303 British

This is a very well preserved Jungle Carbine from 1946, and the “M47C” stamp shows that it was made by BSA, Shirley. It shows signs of normal age and use, but is in much better condition than the Jungle Carbines you usually find. The action is just as smooth as an Enfield should be, and the bolt has none of the excessive slop you see in well worn rifles of this kind. The bore is in excellent condition, without any signs of ever being shot with corrosive ammunition. The stock has some minor dings and scratches from normal use, but doesn’t show any signs of abuse or damage. There is no import mark and the magazine is numbers matching, so this rifle is as close to “as issued” as they come.

It’s one of the nicest and most original Jungle Carbines we have seen, and we hope the pictures will do justice to this iconic rifle!
