Astra 600/43, 9mm Luger.

The Astra 600/43 was a model that was developed especially for the Germans during WWII. It was based on the Astra 400 in 9mm Largo, and at the request from the Germans it was rechambered in their standard pistol caliber 9mm Luger. The barrel was also shortened slightly to make the pistol more compact.

Unlike most other 9mm pistols, the Astra is a straight blowback design. The recoil spring is famous for shooting out of the muzzle when you field strip the pistol, and the recoil is quite snappy compared to other 9mm pistols. Nevertheless, the Astra 600/43 is very well built and very reliable due to the simplicity of the design.

This Astra is in excellent condition with only some high edge wear. The grips are very clean without any cracks or chips. The bore has some frosting but the rifling is strong and sharp. A nice and unusual pistol for your collection!
