Erfurt Luger, post WWI rework – SOLD

$1,150.00

Erfurt Luger, .30 Luger

As part of the Treaty of Versailles after WWI, Germany had to downsize their military force and arsenal. Instead of scrapping out the military guns, many of them were arsenal reworked and sold on the commercial market. To help Germany’s poor finances, most reworks like this Erfurt went on export.

The notched barrel extension shows that it was originally made as a 9mm LP08 “Artillery Luger”, and later reworked and sold as a commercial .30 pistol. It’s marked “Made in Germany” under the barrel, indicating that it was exported after the rework and quite possibly sold as a new gun on the American market.

All numbered parts, including the grips, are numbers matching. The action is perfect with a very smooth trigger pull, and the bore is mirror bright. The finish shows some age and honest wear, but there are no signs of damage or touch-ups.

This Erfurt is a nice gun for those who like pistols with history!
